The thing they never say about surviving a near death experience is that you inevitably face the other side of the question. Perhaps life is the mistake, and you were meant to die. Perhaps living on is the error and the accident of the universe. Maybe you are nothing but a mutant ghost, not quite dead, not totally alive.
